Yes, I do have manuals close to hand: but I knew, and I'd expect most others to
know, of "INITIAL HEADING" and "LOGONID". You have to have a working knowledge
of what's in the language, even if you do have to look up exact syntax,
cautions, warnings etc from time to time. If you don't know these things you'll
write crappy code from doing things the hard way when they were built into the
language for you.
I presumed this was a beginner who hadn't taken the time to read & digest
the statement summary & function summary.
If a beginner or anyone else is hampered by having no manuals, that does
suggest a certain carelessness: manuals always ship with the product, and
should be looked after & made available. I'd be very unimpressed if I was
expected to get to grips with a new language with no documentation.
I thought "RTFM", as well as the answer, was quite mild.
Now that I *have* looked in the manual, there's other ways to do it:
"set report device printer flag" will do it too (provided you're using a
proper operating system ;) ).
