Cognos 7.10G licensing question

Jeff,
You should really direct these questions to your Cognos sales rep, or whoever you obtained the license from... but as they're probably all in Philadelphia this week, here's a very unofficial answer.

As well as the PowerHouse licence, you need an Rdb driver licence. When Cognos moved to user-based pricing they unbundled the drivers from PowerHouse, which reduced the cost for people who were not using relational technology. You probably haven't noticed it before because the licence management software was not as thorough as it is now with FlexLM in version 7.

The solution is to throw money at the problem...

Subject: 	Cognos 7.10G licensing question

Hi:

I've been through the supported customers site, and none of the answers
apply. According to the documentation, we've got the license server started:
		$ sho sys
		<snip>

		2060022E cognosd_FLEXlm  LEF     10      191   0 00:00:00.30
180    208

		<snip>

However, I still get the error:
		*E* Licensing: PH-AXP-RDB(-0-) No such feature exists
(-5,116)

What additional licensing do we need now?
