ODBC and Interbase Problem

Hi,

We are trying to get the server side of Interbase Server Manager working.
We have a call in with Cognos,  but I thought I try here as well as I need
to made a deadline.

Anyway here is the incident logged with Cognos:

Interbase 5.5 - 'Error logging into the requested server"

Dec Alpha (7.10) (33L - Interbase)

He is able to connect using Loopback however if he tries on the client side
(Interbase Server Manager) he gets the following error message ... 'Error
logging into the requested server'

In DB Connection he gets ... "An Interbase error has occured while
attaching. Error - Connection rejected by remote interface."

Wisock is fine. The host and service tests pass fine.
He has a '+' in the first line of the host.equiv file and in the
host.service he has the local.

Has anyone crossed this path? Any possible solutions?
