I agree that the pricing of the product is wrong and that it has dissuaded
many who would use it from getting involved. The interface is also very
poor and I would not use it for control of development activity.

I do, however, think that it is essentially a very useful tool. We have
used it extensively to analyse programs and have used the issues generated
to modify code as necessary.

We have developed our own work tracking system in Delphi, and have exported
the issues generated by Power2000 to Microsoft Access for query and
reporting.

Although we have had to make this extra effort to build a useable system, I
think that without Power2000, or more specifically, the knowledge base,
there is no way to effectively audit what you have checked, and what has
been done, in a sensible & measurable way.

2000 projects are as much audits than anything else, I know for sure that
without the use of the knowledge base we would have missed issues, and
would not have reference documentation to deliver as part of our solution.
The project is not yet complete but the confidence level we get from using
Power2000 is high !

As we come to the end of the first stage of development, we are finding
that the issues are being properly cross referenced and resolved. It would
be interesting to hear of the methods employed by those who have not
considered using the tool.
