Odd Length MPE Files

Colin

Do they *have* to be odd record lengths????

Various versions of Quiz and Qtp have dealt poorly and differently with odd
length records for as long as I can remember (quiz 1.04). Particularly
dangerous was the accidental creation of odd length subfiles which were
subsequently unrecognized. I see no reason to hope that Cognos will improve
this given the history :-(

If you have any choice at all in the record length then I would recommend
making it even. And if I had no choice in the record length then I would be
tempted to copy it from wherever you get it to an even length record using
fcopy before letting PH near it!
