Your right!  Those suggestions will not work.  On VMS we just did and
INQUIRE 
and did string + "," + string and fed it to a underlying DEFINE prompt which=
 
was then used in the heading.  We have gone to a PowerHouse written generic 
report producer in a attempt to get away from many DCL/now shell scripts 
driving many of our reports.  There is no way to do it in QUIZ alone it
seems. 
 That's what I was really after.

None of the suggestions will capture values keyed but not found (which may o=
r
may not be a problem).

I think you probably have to use the OS (like you didn't want).
You may be able to be OS independent though, by using Quiz to prompt for a
comma-separated string & save it using setsystemval, then using
"choose ... systemvalue ..." in a subsequent pass on the actual data.
