8.19.C1 Quiz Performance 130% SLOWER

We are converting from PowerHouse 7.09.E1 P3 to 8.19.C1.
We are seeing a cpu time performance hit of up to 130% in Quiz on our
HP 3000 967SX.

version 7.09: 1237 Cpu Seconds
version 8.19: 2844 Cpu Seconds
The job in question is building a subfile from Image databases.

We consider a performance degradation such as this to be TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

With 8.19 if I enter:
QUIZ "VERSION"
It reports: BETA 2.03.765

Did Cognos ship a BETA build (with beta debug code) as the production
8.19.C1 release?
Are others experiencing as significant a performance penalty with 8.19
as we're seeing?
