Linking problem in 7.10G

How about fixing the long to short linkage problem with an expression ?

access ... link (mod(mylong,65536)) to myshort of myfile ...
select myfile if (mylong<65536) ; to reject any 'wrong' links made

Something similar to deal with signed integers ...
This should give all the correct record complexes with no complaints.

Incidentally, I've found the information about this problem most helpful: Bob's
explanation of it has enabled me to cross it off my list of concerns.
I'm still waiting for the rest of the bug list though ...
