Mike
We hold the images on an NT server as single files (tif) in a directory
structure.
We display these on the desktop with a DDE enabled
"viewer/rotator/printer".
This client receives the instruction on which image to
fetch/display/rotate/print via DDE from the Reflection (could be
Minisoft) window running powerhouse as follows:-
Both reflection and the Image client are running on a Win95 PC.
The HP3000 contains the data, and field(s) on the data of the image
"name" relating to it.
The Images reside on an NT server.
The data is displayed by powerhouse, and an escape sequence is sent out
containing a command string which causes the emulator to DDE-POKE
information through to the Image Client, causing it to retrieve and
display the related image.
The Images can be acquired in a similar way, by driving a "scanning
client" through DDE.
As far as the user is concerned, it is a seamless, integrated solution -
highly effective.
So, in answer to your questions, Yes and Yes.
