Hey Blue, it's frustrating getting those reports going. This might help.
If I remember correctly a few months ago I had to go through this. I kept
my
reports which came in handy later on down the road for management.
1) Don't run Impromptu from within Power2000, forget it!
2) Find a file in you installation directly called DBECFG32.EXE. It's in a
folder call dbengine, 32bit, or something like that.
3) Run this program and go to the tab called alias I think.
4) You'll have to put in your network drive path there. This path should
be
where your project is. The paradox database for the project should be
there
too.
5) The other thing is make should your project path is too long. This
program
seems to like Windows 3.1 style naming conventions. You might get away
with
sticking the ~ in at the end but to be same trim down your folder name. Do
all this in lower case.
6) Exit DBECFG32.EXE...that save it think. It's been awhile.
7) Create an icon that goes directly to impromtu and run it.
8) Go to a folder called cognos and did down until you find another folder
called reports. You'll have to search for that I can't remember the exact
path. You can that attach to the Y2K catalog they have there. This should
get you up and running. If not Cognos is familiar with this bug and they
could also run you through the process. The network drive and the Window
3.1
naming restrictions is what is holding you up.
