Thanks. No case statement here. The offending statement seems to be this
select statement:

>IF "0000" = PERIOD-X OF FIBRE-SHIPMENTS OR &
> T-PERIOD-ENDS LE &
> ADDCENTURY(PERIOD-BEGINS OF FREIGHT-PERIODS, &
> CENTURY(PERIOD-BEGINS OF FREIGHT-PERIODS))
Take it out and the request works. Remove either side of the or and the
request works. I've settled for moving the add(...,cen(...)) stuff to a
define and then comparing t-period-ends with the define. This seems to
work too. Hope I don't find too many more!

I have seen this once before and it had something to do with a case
statement. Changing it to an if, then, else structure solved the
problem.
