Portability of QTP Subfiles

In 8.19 (and 8.13) there is a new subfile format (#8). However, 8.19 and
8.13 will read older format subfiles. Each new format of subfile
provided for a new feature. the current new format allows for longer
item names. If you have existing subfiles, you have many choices. You
can convert them. You can add the FORMAT option to specify the format in
the SET SUBFILE or SUBFILE statements. In 8.19, you can use the
SUBFORMAT program parameter to specify which subfile format PowerHouse
should assume as a default. 

So the short answer to the question is; Yes, PowerHouse 8.19 will be
able to create subfiles readable by earlier versions. But you won't be
able to use the new default (8).
