The first version on MPE/iX that is warranted as Year 2000 compliant is
7.29.C8. Version 8.19 with the year 2000 friendly enhancements will be
out in the summer. Both will continue to use QDD dictionaries. However,
we will not certify PowerHouse when running off of a QDD dictionary
because we aren't providing development support (bug fixing) QDD or that
interface any more. We can't certify something that we will not be
fixing. 8.19 will come with an upgrade guide. Details of upgrading to
specific versions can also be obtained from Customer Support.
If you do not upgrade, you won't be on a compliant version. 7.09 is out
of support. We know there is an issue with retrieving the system date
correctly on Feb 29, 2000. A routine is available (the "wedge") that
resolves this problem. Documentation is available on our web site or
from Customer Support. Do a search on the word "wedge". There are other
cosmetic year 2000 problems such as QTP's run details page not displays
dates in the 2000s as crosshatches. However these won't affect your data
or its display.
