Power2000 & Cobol

Language senistivity means that the search engine understands the syntax
rules for the language. For PowerHouse, Power2000 understands that an
ampersand continues a statement, that a semicolon means a comment, and
that strings can be enclosed in single and double quotes. The first is
the most important. It means that you can scan a statement that extends
over many lines as if it were one long line. For example, say you want
to find PARMs that use a specific date FORMAT option. The word "PARM"
may not be on the same line as the word "FORMAT". With Power2000, it
doesn't matter.
For COBOL, the language sensitivity may not apply to all versions of
COBOL. The online help lists the specifics of that sensitivity. By the
way, we also have language sensitivity for SQL and GDL (InterBase).
A Knowledge Base is a collection of Issues. An Issue is something you
want to look for and is made up of search expressions. We provide 2
PowerHouse-oriented Knowledge Bases with Power2000. We do not provide
Knowledge Bases for anything other than PowerHouse.
As for other languages, Power2000 can scan any text. However, other than
what's listed above, it does not have any language sensitivity. So it
does not understand what represents a continuation character or line in
C, FORTRAN, PASCAL, or BASIC.
