I strongly agree with Mark about the benefit for Cognos in pushing its ADT
tools ESPECIALLY now that they are releasing the WEB version. However, I do not
think it should be marketed as "POWERHOUSE". Instead a new sexy WEB sounding
name should be used.
Maybe we should have a contest for the name with a prize from Cognos for the
winner!!!
I also think it should be pushed in a different way to Powerhouse, i.e. it
should be offered in a bundle with Cognos BI tools as an e-commerce application
builder with easy database connectivity. Maybe Cognos can produce some
templates for basic apps as it does with BI tools, which can be further
customised. Imagine the size of new revenue if even 10% of Cognos's BI
customers bought this "new" product!!! What about the revenue from consulting
services? It can also serve as a differentiator with other vendors, who do not
have this kind of the complementary product to their BI offerings.
