Does PowerHouse allow remote DB acce

This one should work. Does for me.

Yes. I issued a file equate using the open name in the dictionary (in my   
case, root.group) and a fully qualified file name plus node. Quiz read   
the remote base just fine. Tried it with 5.09 and 7.29 -- both work.

Better give it another try :-)
