year 2000 vax 610?

Version 6.10E has not been nor will it be tested for year 2000
compliance. Version 6.10E has been out of support for years. The
earliest certified version on OpenVMS is 7.10.F2, however we strongly
recommend that OpenVMS customers upgrade to version 7.10.G which will be
supported into the Year 2000. 7.10.G was built on OpenVMS 6.2 which is
stated as compliant by Digital (according to their web site).

Although there may be other problems, the major problem we found in
7.10.E was that the system date is returned incorrectly if the
dictionary default century is 19. Any date after Feb 28, 2000 through
Dec 31, 2000 is returned as 1 day later. This also means that on Dec 31,
2000, you get an error because it tries to return a day later which
doesn't exist. Although we can't warrant or support this, I have heard
that setting the default century to 20 resolves this problem. Keep in
mind that this may affect other logic in your application, especially if
you use century excluded dates. In addition, using a system option of
century excluded will affect how the default century is used.
