VAX vs Alpha compiles

I wouldn't do this if you plan on moving your compiled version to production=

some day on a Alpha that have been compiled on a VAX.  The operating system
is 
the same but don't let that fool ya because the architecture of each machine=

is quite different.  There could be any number of internal differences that 
you would not know about.  If you are just wondering whether it works your 
answer is yes if your PowerHouse versions are the same. 

As for the OpenVMS version I'd advise you compile it against a Y2K version. =

But again Bob Deskin refered to internal (behind the scenes) differences a 
hundred times on this list.  Why would you want to compile on one version
and 
run it on another.

G'day all

Can anyone tell if I can compile PowerHouse code on an Alpha OVMS box and
run it on a VAX OVMS box and visa versa please?  What OVMS version
implications might there be as well?
