Hi,

Several colleagues of mine are experiencing a bit of a challenge right
now and I was wondering if anyone has any
suggestions/experiences/solutions they would like to share either
through the listserver or directly via email
(mailto:Patrick.Beckett@diamond-systems.com). Here is their description
of the problem:

"We currently have a mixed environment with some client/server
applications written in VB, using components running under MTS, which
are attempting to read and write from RMS and RDB files on our legacy
platform (OpenVMS). We are running into all kinds of problems, and are
looking for an alternative to MTS which we can invoke from the client or
the server (NT) and which will do connection pooling for us, to ensure
scalability.

"We primarily use Powerhouse for our legacy applications; we use the
ODBC CONNX driver from Solutions IQ for RMS, and an ODBC driver from
Oracle for RDB. Some of our applications will host thousands of users
via the Internet, so direct connections (one per user) wouldn't work for
us. "

Any suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
