We're proud to announce that Webstamp 0.6.2 has been released. "make
upgrade" in a Webstamp ROOTDIR (top level site directory) near you.
This release cleans up the Webstamp PHP code in various ways:
- Webstamp 0.6.2+ should run on an Apache server with register_globals
off without modification (a more and more common default setting, more
secure)
- Webstamp 0.6.2 should remove the annoying source code line number
offset problem in PHP errors (easier debugging)
- A couple of internal variables now get initialized, fixing a couple of
potential PHP warning messages (cleaner logs)
Let me know of any snags you may run into, either new to this release or
otherwise.
Development has not yet started on 0.7.x, mostly because I got a job
back in March. I'm the Language Acquisition Center Supervisor at
University of Texas at Arlington. That means I run the day to day
operations of a 27 station Mac OS X lab, run a couple of Mac OS X
servers, develop web applications using Apache, PHP and MySQL, and
occasionally help with the needs of the Modern Languages Department, of
which the lab is a part. I consider my responsibilities to be similar
to running the MicroGarden, cosmic and www and having none of the other
many responsibilities at my old job at SWAU.
God got me a great job with a great boss at a good place to work, now
I'm just wondering why I'm there.
God bless.
