Big part of those costs “should” be related to how much background processing/Shell scripting you have.
The Native Powerhouse portion should not require much programming effort, but batch/embedded shell scripts
Are an entirely different can of worms.
If that’s simply a software licensing quote, then somebody really is pushing their migration consulting services…
(We looked at moving from VMS to LINUX at one point, it wasn’t the Native Powerhouse portion that nixed the ideal,
It was the Batch/Shell scripting work). Decision was to “support in place” until such a time as we hit “replace in total”.

Years ago, (maybe even a decade ago), I was working with a Canadian company and an equivelent quote was about 37k IIIRC.
So seems high to me. But then, don't they normally look at the financials before determining price?

Subject: Stunning relicense quote
Hi friends,
You don't often hear from me. I'm editor of the 3000 NewsWire and have readers who use Powerhouse. One of my readers reported that he got a $300,000 quote to move 20 seats of PowerHouse to Linux off of MPE. Is that even possible? Seems steep indeed.
Anybody here using Powerhouse on Linux?
Thanks,
Ron Seybold
