Ph 8.40g OpenVMS QKDRIVER Build Problem

I am converting two applications to the Itanium platform.

Running buildexternal for one of them, the created driver gives this error
message:
*E* The driver name can only contain the NAME portion when QUICK is
installed
with privileges.

This driver was built with /share and is installed in the sys$share
directory. The exact steps were followed on the OpenVMS Alpha Powerhouse 7
system.

A separate Itanium conversion had the driver built with /noshare and it is
not installed from sys$share. That driver works correctly.

There is nothing mentioned in the release notes about the driver so I am
wondering if anyone else has seen this error.
