PH Windows and DB2

A temporary key allows access to all features.
PowerHouse for Windows does not have native support for DB2 on AS/400. It
does have native support for DB2 on Windows so there may be a pass
through. Alternatively, there should be an ODBC driver for DB2 on AS/400.

Since this is keeping me up I have 2 1/2 questions
Does a Temporary Key allow you to use the native clients?
And how do I tell the client how and where the database is. In an oracle
environment you have TNSNAMES.ORA where you specify the server and port
among other things. DB2 must use something similar. Does someone have an
example with it's PDL mate.
Or am I missing something in how to configure this totally.
Essentially I have a client that is migrating from a 3000 to DB2 on the
AS/400 and want to run PH8 Windows.. They have a temporary key and I went
down a rabbit hole looking at the DB2 OBDC client when someone mentioned
that PH8 does have its own client...
