That wasn't my question for a couple reasons

OBDC is a PITA as you loose dictionary control.. Redefines are gone and the
ability to change instance is as well..

Essentially the client chose the solution stack and powerhouse on windows is
making things less then convenient ODBC makes it near impossible when the
data on the HP3000 is pretty much always redefined.. and it's better when we
talk volume, (100+ databases 1100 tables, 3500 KSAM files and 2000 flat
files) their dictionary is one of the largest I have ever seen over 300K
lines of source code in the PDL..

Question;

Can DB2 (on windows) mirror or pass-though a table on iSeries, thus allowing
me to use a dictionary on Windows..

IE I have a customer table on the iSeries and I want to use a dictionary to
access it.. Can I create a customer table on windows define it in the
dictionary as a DB2 table and have DB2 on Windows get/put the data from/to
iSeries?
