If you want to use alternative PowerHouse Web Server messages,
create/change the message file and use the phwebaltmsg program parameter
to point to it. Specify that in the Other Program Parameters box in
PHWEBServer Properties in the Administrator. More details in the PH Web
Planning and Configuration Guide. Chapter 8 is all about Messages.

Subject: Customizing PowerHouse Web Messages
Sent by: powerh-l-bounces+bob.deskin=ca.ibm.com at lists.sowder.com
Hi All:
I am using PowerHouse Web 8.40G on OpenVMS.
Some of our users tend to ignore PowerHouse Web messages.
We would like to use stronger language.
Instead of just ‘Too many characters for field’.
We would like ‘*** Error *** too many characters for field; re-enter
please!”
With Quick I would create my own QKMSG file.
If I create a QKMSG file how can I get PowerHouse Web to look at?
Another approach would be to modify the HTML
Displaying “*** Error ***” + PH_MSG + “; re-enter please!”
The problem with this is that if PH_MSG is blank ( i.e nothing is wrong )
then you get
“*** Error *** ; re-enter please!”
So one would need a script to test the value of PH_MSG. Has anyone tried
this?
By the way, I have stopped the “too many characters for field’ message by
inserting the maxlength attribute into the
HTML input field definition. Now the web page refuses to accept any more
characters than that which is allowed on
the QDESIGN field.
