   "broadcast (OpenVMS)
    Determines how QUICK handles broadcast, or non-PowerHouse messages.
Syntax
    broadcast=3Ddefault|deferred
    Default: deferred
   Default

QUICK bases its treatment of non-PowerHouse messages on the specification e=
stablished by
the DCL SET BROADCAST command.

deferred
Non-PowerHouse messages are trapped and displayed on the message line when =
QUICK
performs the next I/O to the terminal.


Equivalent Resource File Statement
BROADCAST DEFAULT|DEFERRED


We have an application that we wish to be able to send messages to from Ops=
.... e.g. "Please logout because backups, Rdb, etc. will start in 30 minute=
s..."

We're running on openvms v7.1-2 and PH 7.10G ?
REPLY, MAIL, etc. etc. don't send messages to an executing (although dorman=
t) Quick session. PHONE same deal.

Anybody have any ideas?
