No you can't count on it. We may or may not force a recompile for a new
version. We always recommend recompiling. A recompile will be forced when
the dictionary changes or when table structures (for example screen
tables) change. There were not a lot of changes between F and G, so nobody
flipped the recompile switch. However, if you reported a problem with this
combination, the first thing would be to see if it happened in one version
or the other. If it only happened in a mixed situation, you have one guess
what we'd say.
Besides, if you're using G why not recompile everything and have done with
it.
Are you suggesting that we should always force a recompile unless we're
going to support a mix?

That’s right Powerhouse 8.40.G compiled screens can run under
QUICK 8.40.F and also under PHWEBSERVER 8.40.F.
Can we count on it?
This begs the question:- Can 8.40.F compiled screens run under
QUICK 8.40.G and also under PHWEBSERVER 8.40.G
This is obviously an undesirable situation because if a fix is
required it may be made in wrong version of PowerHouse.
