Compile problem

If you are trying to run the re-compiled screen and say "N" when asked
to build a new version, that SHOULD leave you in qdesign, IF you are
running interactively.
Then, if you type "GO" at the > prompt then that should execute your
MODIFIED code.

Hope that helps ... unless I've mis-understood again.

Guy

Hi Guy

I dont think you understood what I meant. I already have a quick screen
compiled /built without the
"required" attached to employee_nin. When I recompile the source code,
unless I put a "Y" when I am asked to build a new version, the already
built screen should not reflect that change.

GJ,

Your original message was:
Hi to all.
Problem is when I recompile a quick screen without building ,
the recompile becomes the compiled screen.
Its as if an automatic build is performed. I am using Powerhouse
(7.10.G3) on OpenVMS (TM) Alpha Operating System, Version V7.3-1

Thanks.

I work on HP-Ux, so there may be some minor differences, but on Ux the
screen below DOES a build, because you've INSTRUCTED it to do so, with
the "BUILD" statement at the end.
Your screen is doing exactly what you told it to do.

On Ux what you have below will have a compiled screen named
EMPLOYEETEMP.qkc. By any chance do you have your source file named as
EMPLOYEETEMP.qkc? (or the VMS equivalent) That WOULD cause you
problems!
