Compilation problem

Hi to all. 
         Problem is when I recompile a quick screen without building , the recompile becomes the compiled screen.
Its as if an automatic build is performed. I am using Powerhouse (7.10.G3) on OpenVMS (TM) Alpha Operating System, Version V7.3-1
