Hi John:
Yes you can create and call a C subroutine from QUICK.
Lookup all that fun stuff on BUILDEXTERNAL.

Greetings, Listers:
I have called external programs from within Quick but it's been some time.
Can anyone please direct me to where I can update my skills per calling subroutines for e.g. TCPIP communication. I have a challenge to see System A passing a data packet/record to System B an OpenVMS system where it will be processed as an Oracle database update. We've got a C program right now but we're spawning each time we pass data and I think, what the hey, we can do it via a direct C call from Quick, no?
I feel 600 users spawning left and right through OS command lines are going to be an issue. And we're just in the design phase.
Thanks for any counsel and help.
