ADMINISTRAVIA: list hiccup

There was a list "hiccup" for several weeks, apparently caused by the OS
upgrade I did a few weeks back. I didn't upgrade the Mailman software,
but apparently there was a dependency not covered by the Debian packages
that caused all messages sent to the list to be shunted with a Unicode
processing failure.
I believe the complete backlog of messages has now been processed,
though I skipped a few messages that appeared to be of the "is the list
broken" variety, including a test message I sent this morning.
Thanks to David Morrison, who got me started looking at the problem.
I'll be putting more monitoring mechanisms in place to hopefully better
see the difference between failure and a simply quiet list. I guess
being a sysadmin by trade doesn't mean your own servers are perfect... :)
