Hi all,

Sorry for the quandary, turns out that the ERROR statement is
functioning properly. The ERROR message isn't actually being performed.
Rather, the same error message exists in the future called screen.

Sorry again for the misunderstanding.

Daniel,

Is it possible that you really have a WARNING or INFORMATION statement?

Something like

WARNING "ERROR: May not enter this data"

Thanks.

Subject: ERROR stmt - PH607F - AS400

Hi all,

I am performing an "ERROR" statement within a DESIGNER procedure. QUICK
displays the message and seems to continue processing instead of the
expected back-up. The step following the ERROR is a call to another
screen (RUN SCREEN). It is in that screen that the error message is
displayed. The procedure is being called in a display screen that is
Find mode.

Under Error processing in the QDESIGN Procedural Reference :"QUICK backs
up to a previous ACCEPT or PROMPT verb, or to a previous BLOCK TRANSFER
control structure. If no such verb or control structure exists, QUICK
prompts at the Action field."

Could someone direct me as to what I should be looking for or what I'm
missing?
