Hi Jim,
 
global temporary i_tab integer size 1 byte initial 9 ; where 9 is the
ascii value for a TAB
globel temporary gt_tab character*1 initial character(i_tab)
 
Wherever you need to insert a tab character, use the gt_tab variable,
