How to: Executing MS SQL-Server local packages with PoweHouse
/Axiant.

Bert,
I would imagine so. I know that DTS Packages can be called using command
line (.cmd/.bat) from a remote client desktop shortcut.
The client (calling) machine needs to have SQL Server Tools installed in
order to do this.
Without knowing your network setup (fat client NETD Thin Client etc) I
would try a "run command" calling the server based .cmd and see how it
goes.
Sincerely

Subject: How to: Executing MS SQL-Server local packages with PoweHouse

Dear PH / Axiant developers,
Would it -with your experience- be possible to start a MS SQL Server job
or Local Package with a specific statement inside Qdesign?
I know we can call stored procedures, but that's different thing.
- Jobs are typically called by the SQL Server Agent
- And local packages belong to Data Transformation Services and they can
be called by jobs... .
-> Could the best way be just trying sp_start_job?
Regards,
Bert
