Number of records of a subfile in Qdesgin/UNIX?

I don't know if PowerHouse can do this
but it would be greater if you could send 
a command as an argument to getsystemval.
 
E.G.
 
Define  RESULT_STR char * 80 = &
            getsystemval ( "`wc -l myfile`" )
 
Or
 
 
Define  RESULT_STR char * 80 = &
            getsystemval ( "`myscript myfile`" )
 
where myscript is a shell script that returns 
a string to stdout.
