I worked for a company ( a few years ago now ) that set up date/time
logicals/symbols in DCL and referenced these wherever possible via
getsystemval, systemvalue etc., they hardly ever used PH date and time
functions.

Subject: daylight savings probs
Hello everyone
We've had an interesting problem which has only started occuring since the
weekend, when those of us in the southern hemisphere went from daylight
savings time, back to standard time.
The operating system is OpenVMS, running Powerhouse 8.40.D.
In a nutshell, for 1 hour between midnight and 1:00am, Powerhouse gets the
date wrong - although the time is right. Here's an example:
This is the code from one of our overnight batch jobs.
$!
$EXEC_STEP = "1"
$WS "STEP 1"
$SHOW TIME
$!
$! Parameters for the program: None
$!
$!
$QTP
EXECUTE PH_OBJ:PH_TWO_026.QTC
EXIT
$!
$STEP_1A:
$!---------------------------------------------------------------
Note the VMS SHOW TIME request before calling QTP.
This is the log file from yesterday morning:

We've raised this with Cognos Support, who advised that someone else was
experiencing the same thing, but I was just wondering if anyone else has
come across this. or has any suggestions?
Thanks!
