Importing data from an Excel Sheet to Powerhouse

Hi,
 
I myself use a program called DATALOAD
(http://www.american.edu/academic.depts/cas/econ/gaussres/utilitys/datal
oad.htm) to convert .XLS files into a format that can be read by PH
(fixed item and record lenghts in the output file f.i.).
I do call that from Axiant through a run command f.i.
 
It's simple, robust, configurable and FREEWARE!

	 Most of the times, users send data in XLS format, if its a
matter of
	 10-20 records, we could do it manually,
	 but its impossible when its a matter 1000 and above records, 
	
	 Please suggest a way to do this.
