Good one Joe. Make friends by insulting them.
The word powerhouse certainly isn't dead. On a Dice search for
California I found 11 companies that describe them self's as 'a/the
powerhouse' in their industry. NOT ONE Powerhouse job. I tried a few
other job sites and found ZERO Powerhouse jobs in California or the
local area. I consider this a decent indicator that Powerhouse is
DEAD! Hell, I found one job that mentioned Pascal.
OK. Dead might be a little strong, but it certainly is very career
limiting if one gets stuck doing mostly Powerhouse. I can only hope
that most Powerhouse programmers have also been working with other
technologies extensively enough to allow them flexibility in moving
on. If not, get started TODAY!
