PH Web is constrained by QUICK's architecture.
On the plus side, the E version does have the ability to change the
content type of the page going back to the Web Server and browser. There
is also a WEBEXIT procedure.
As for the Dispatcher stability, we have fixed a number of memory leaks
in E. If you have cases where syntax or template errors cause Dispatcher
problems, please let me know so we can fix them and include appropriate
tests in our QC package.

Subject: RE: HTML Generator
I think the main problem with PHweb is the limitations of
PowerHouse,
like 255 occurs in cluster and records in a result list, buffer
size
limits in Qdesign/Quick and limit for large (4000+ in request)
character field, etc.
The client (browser) side developing can be done in separated
HTML templates with JavaScript (Ajax, Realtime field
validation).
What I have miss is possibility to read and revise the things in
request/postback like change content-type of header (XML, maybe
binary also) and
set/read session time cookies.
Major obstacle to use PHweb in critical applications is
stability of the Dispatcher
which is quite poor. Only one mistake in syntax or even in
template can
hang the whole dispatcher.
The WEBEXIT procedure is also one circumstance that I have
needed a long time ago,
which is included in the new E version, isn't it?
