Is Powerhouse expanding in India

I agree with you Richard.
I got a call a few weeks ago from a head hunter (pimp?) who found me from a
resume I posted on Monster.com 3 years ago (I don't even like that service
any more) looking for a Powerhouse contractor.
After a few very amusing emails back and forth, I said "good luck" finding a
local contractor with "current" Ph/Vax experience. I told her I could put
her in touch with 4/5 good local UNIX contractors, but none with current Vax
experience.
The fact that she only found me thru a 3 year old resume is pathetic. There
should be a better way for people to find out about PH and the people who
use it.

It could be due to the fact that PowerHouse is so little known still, even
by most Cognos People. They seem to mostly be all about BI.
Which is OK; but that's what happens...
I seem to recall someone's sig reading something like a BORG statement.
"Change is inevitable, Resistance is futile!"
How are people going to know that they can hire people locally (at least
within their own country); if there is so little information, easy to get
at, information about PowerHouse on the NET?

:-) (but if you look at a map of the world, there does seem to be a
reasonable sub/semi-conscious pseudo apriori continental premise at work
here - at least at first sight :-( )
Well there it is - the final nail in the coffin for PH in the west - I must
assume that all the legacy PH systems are now being farmed out to India (
China next ? ) - I must have been applying my selective vision goggles when
I looked at the email address. That said, I would still be very interested
in any theories on how this list address is getting into the hands of 'self
confessed zero-PHers'.
Regards ( and now totally committed to less assuming :-), Joe.

Yup, that was what was driving my assumption.
Of course, we Canadians are perhaps more prone to false assumptions as we
park our dogsleds outside of our igloos during the driving snowstorms of
July! (Tongue firmly in cheek, of course!)

it occurred to me that I have worked along side people with Indian/Asian
sounding names all of my life - what makes you assume that the queries are
coming out of India - or at least arn't from UK/EU/USA residents ? Most
email addresses appear to be from Yahoo servers.

Recently, I notice there are a lot of Powerhouse queries coming out of India
and I am wondering if more and more
companies in India are jumping into Powerhouse or are these queries from
companies which are out source provider
for companies in the Western countries ?
Perhaps some of our Powerhouse Indian colleagues or Bob Deskin can comment.
Thanks.
Luan
