you can search for quiz matches  by going to Google and typing e.g.
'site:lists.sowder.com powerh-l quiz' or for quiz subfile matches type
'site:lists.sowder.com powerh-l quiz sub' or qtp subfile matches typing
'site:lists.sowder.com powerh-l qtp sub' etc. ( this is why you should never
abbreviate and always qualify items with their file names.

You can see the whole PH list archive at
http://lists.sowder.com/pipermail/powerh-l - and download the whole archive
using Gzip - search the internet for a free copy of Gzip; once you download
the archive you can use dos syntax like 'findstr /is "define"
c:\PHarchivepath\*.txt (in a cmd shell) or even 'findstr /ismc:"report
summary" c:\PHarchivepath\*.txt. You can then use (again in a cmd shell)
syntax like 'start wordpad c:\PHarchivepath\specificfile.txt' to open the
file in question and search for your string etc.. If in doubt - type help
findstr (again in a cmd shell) to see the options.

Hi again Gaurav,

I should also add that it is very unusual for an inexperienced programmer to
be making changes to an application, and if I were you I would insist on
being given training immediately. Also, you really should gain experience in
using vi as an editor, in the long run it will be easier than using
notepad/ftp transfers ( I suspect you have no Unix training either - hence
no vi ).

In addition to pasting source code from file proj0170.qzs into your email to
the list ( NOT ME :-) you should also add the source code proj0127.qzs - not
forgetting output from 'quiz version'.

I would dearly like to know where all these inexperienced 'developers' are
getting the address of this list ?

Thanks a ton for help.

Well i am totaly new to Powerhouse and i am not aware what is qtp,qzs,QUIZ
etc.

The problem with me is:

I have a report proj0170.qzs which uses a subfile proj0127.

I made a change in proj0127 to select a new column.I ftp the file in my
system..changed the code in notepad..and then again ftp the file in Unix
box.

I compiled proj0127 and it asked me to delete .sfd and .sf file.I deleted
those and compliled proj0127 successfully.

Then i added the new field of subfile proj0127 in proj0170 and complied and
it gave error saying subfile cannot be found.

Can you please correct me where i am going wrong?

as for the subfile, did you add the word 'keep', otherwise the subfile be
temporary only and disappear when your PH session ends.

you might get more help if you send the syntax to the list as there are too
many possibilities.

could it be that you are not in the directory in which the subfile exists ? 

do you know it the subfile still exists ?

etc.

it is always handy to mention which product e.g. quiz, qtp. you are using
and which platform and even PH version.

I am new to powerhouse and was learning the language.In the process a i
created a subfile and complied the file and I am using the subfile in some
other file.

Now when i compile the file it gives error saying the subfile cannot be
accessed.

Any help will be of great use...
