PH v8.x accessing Interbase via ODBC

You don't say which version of PH or which platform (although I have good
reason for guessing it is IBM/AIX(phew!)), but either way, I can find only
'native' access referenced for Interbase in my Fieldfacts notes.

Does any body has tried to access Interbase version 6 or above using PH 8.x
via ODBC? Any reply to this matter will be appreciated.
