Quiz report print option

Gene,

Although our environment is a bit different (HP-Ux, C-ISAM files), we regularly set up the printer destination by setting the PH_PRINTER variable prior to running the Quiz.

So, rather than trying to affect the Quiz source, we leave SET REPORT DEVICE PRINTER in the Quiz and instead set the PH_PRINTER variable first.

Hope that helps.

Subject: Quiz report print option

Hi All,

Database: Oracle
System: UNIX Sun Solaris

I have a UNIX script which run quiz report.
Ex. quiz dict=cognos_user auto=src/quiz_report.qzs
In the report I have option to print it to specific printer
(SET REPORT DEVICE PRINTER 'lp -d hp700 -oc -o landscape')
or save to the specified directory (SET REPORT DEVICE DISK)
Is there an option to be able collect printer info in the UNIX script
(using prompt and
then output to the printer another words pass UNIX variable to the
SET REPORT DEVICE PRINTER (UNIX variable) statement?

Gene.

I'm looking for an experienced IT professional with
the following skills to begin a programming project in

Nov./Dec. running to Apr/May.

Project scope is analyzing current Askplus code on
HP3000 and developing the same solution on MS SQL
using stored procedures, T-SQL scripting and/or
Crystal report writing 11.0. Jobscope is the ERP
system on the HP3000 and is also Jobscope on MS SQL
which is the system the business is going to.

80% can be done remotely.
Client pays flight, lodging, rental car for the
expected 2-5 1 week trips onsite required.

Total # of hours is difficult to estimate.
Identification of Add-ons to be programmed is expected

to be complete by 11/15. Low estimate is 200, high
estimate is 1000.

Hourly work, no benefits. Remote rate is lower than
onsite rate. Onsite work would be in CA. Market rate.

HP3000 Image/Query
Development with Askplus code
MS SQL
MS SQL stored procedure script writing
MS T-SQL scripting
Crystal report writing within the pasts 5 years

Jobscope, JEE or ERP experience advantageous.

Please contact me via email or call me at 419-651-6704

or send me your resume' ASAP. Thanks!

PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO ANYONE WHO YOU KNOW MIGHT BE

INTERESTED.
