Error "*E* Group 17 is empty." in ALIGN statements

What version are you using? I just tried your align statement in the
8.41E test version on Windows and it was fine. I don't recall any recent
changes to ALIGN.

	Might be due to the definition of the variable that contains the
column number in the powerhouse source code!
	Sounds like a single byte with sign bit(but why, negative values
aren't allowed here). This would mean something like 2^7 -1 (though zero
isn't valid as well!) to be the max i.e. 127.
	Could also be an array with a lowerbound=0 (and thus an
upperbound=127).
	 
	This are just wild guesses. Don't hang me up on them!
	 
	The limitation is weird whatever the cause

		Yes. Trail and error showed that 127 is the maximum
number! I wonder why?

		I think I recall there being that there is a majic
number; beyond which you cannot place an alignment position.
		You might try and swap your 122 and 129 fields ie
		(,,122) for the 4 character field, then say (,,127)
