Programmer's editor suggestion?

I am familiar with SlickEdit, and also Textpad, two  editors which
allow color coding based on the syntax of a programming language. Is there
anything better out there, or perhaps more in tune with Axiant/Powerhouse
development? Target platform would be Wintel.
