Quiz - access with an expression

In the old chicken and egg scenario, e.g. you can't DEFINE an item to be
used in an ACCESS statement, I could have sworn you could put in something
like a GETSYSTEMVALUE statement in the linkage. Similar to:

access a link getsystemvalue("index_value",sym), field2 of a to field1,
field2 of b

I can't find any such mention in the manual or my old dusty copy of
Directions '93. Either I was imagining it or I just have the syntax wrong.
