missed Quick features

I knew someone who stayed with the Quick defaults. He put in extensive
DESCRIPTION of SCREEN and of FIELD statements.

He would give the users 3 things:-
1) a user's logon that took him directly in to the application and signed
him off when he exited Quick.
2) a screen map
3) a copy of "Your Guide to QUICK Screens"

Now you can see the rational for staying with the defaults. THe guide refers
to them!

When a user asked 'How do I use it?' He replied "Signon and hit ??."

Developers of new systems often overlook the following default features and
users miss them.

1) Rapid fire entry. Most users can enter data without seeing their Quick
screens e.g. 2;xtddf;sss;UR

2) Duplicate key ( _ )

3) select on a sub string usually %@some_string@

4) In-field editing ( Cntrl-B )

5) Generic key retrieval ( ..@ )

6) SKIP REST OF OCCURRENCE (/) and SKIP ALL (//)

7) GO TO STOPSCREEN ( ^^^ )

9) BACKWARD Retrieval ( \ )

Regards,
Peter
