John,
I'm on a different OS, so I can't give you details, but I'd guess that there's a system command that you could use to delete all the records in a table.
(On the AS/400, it is CLRPFM.)
Thanks.

Subject: Resource Deadlocks
To all,
I am attempting to do maintenance on an archive database. Archive means VERY LOW usage. Because the indexes were not unique initially, we have many duplicate records. I am removing these duplicated records. Once the dupicates are eliminated, we will add a unique index which should help to prevent this duplicate problem from happening again. I have saved all the records to a subfile for safe keeping, just in case.
I am using QTP to delete all of the records in the table and then load all of the non-duplicate records ack into the table(s).
My problem is that the QTP job is coming up with a "resource deadlock" error. No one else is attached to the database. I tried using QDESIGN in creating a very simple QUICK screen to see if I can bring up a record, which I can, and then delete the one record. Again, I get the resource deadlock.
Help!!
We are version 7.10.E6, VMS V6.2 and RDB 6.1
Anyone out there have any ideas, wild or otherwise??
Thanks,
John Stires
