Scrollable fields

Hi everyone...

Can someone please help me here with scrolling fields?

I need to create a screen where all records HAVE to be on a single row.
Unfortunately one of the fields in the cluster, is too big to display on
the screen and so I want to define it as a scrollable field. Sure, the
users will only see a portion of the field, but I want them to be able
to scroll left / right of the field to see the rest of the information.

I know about the FIELD ... FOR row, col qualifier but I cannot get it to
work.

For some reason the field still wants to display in its full size and so
this pushes the field onto another row, which is what I don't want.

My field statement is this ...

field account_description of user_file size 43 for ,60

Basically, I want to display only 43 chars on the screen, but allow the
field to be scrollable for the full size which is 60 chars.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance
