Sort Error

Just a thought. I remember that this happened to me about 15 years ago.
 
The sort/scratch file could not open because the data extract was so
big, we actually ran out of disc space during the run.

Sorry about that.  I work on Alpha and SYS$SCRATCH is basically as big
as the space available.

 

Does the file equation setting mean that the disk space is available to
you?

the process will run for 20 minutes before crashing, hence the reasoning
behind it being the size

Hi All

I'm using Powerhouse on MPE, when running a QTP routine I'm getting the
following error

    395   There was a sort error.
    396   
    397   The Scratch file cannot be opened.
    398    
    399   Action Taken: Run terminated.
          ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I assumed that there was some type of default limit on the size of the
scratch file so I calculated the number of records and added a file
equation

FILE QTPSORT;DISC=7000000

But the QTP is still failing, ay ideas?
